Silent Night

Silent Night is a play about love and betrayal, about the stories we tell ourselves and each other; and the secrets we all hide; Silent Night is also a companion piece to The Peach Tree

Plot Summary

Set in the early summer of 1999, Stephanie le Boutin has arrived at Sasha Lebedev'sdo rundown dacha outside of Moscow to interview Sasha about his life as double agent, so she can write a bestselling biography about him.

Sasha, now in his 70s, is flattered that he hasn't been forgotten and can't wait to tell his story to the outside world that he thinks has long forgotten him. Imra, (his wife and Sasha's former KGB handler), resents Stephanie being there, as Sasha's health is ailing and she doesn't want Stephanie to use their story for gain, especially as it might mean talking about the death of her and Sasha's beloved son Nikolai. As Stephanie tries to charm both Sasha and Imra, a property developer arrives eyeing the rundown dacha and land, and is willing to stop at nothing to get it.
